"I didn't start Untax from a venture capital boardroom. I started it as an Army veteran who spent seven years in the National Guard as a 15F Aircraft Electrician—mostly crawling around in the tail of a UH-60 Black Hawk getting shocked because I forgot to unplug the battery. I deployed to Kosovo in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and came home to navigate the exact same bureaucratic maze that millions of other veterans face.

I have immense gratitude for this great nation and for the GI Bill, which paid for a college education that I otherwise could never have afforded. That opportunity gave me the foundation to build software, solve hard technical problems, and start companies. It proved to me that when our country keeps its promises to those who served, it unlocks incredible potential.

When you hang up the uniform, you quickly realize something: the government is remarkably efficient when it wants to reassess your home or hike your property tax bill, but nearly invisible when it comes to delivering the statutory exemptions you earned through military service.

Every year, county appraisal districts across America send out inflated property tax notices to disabled veterans and surviving Gold Star spouses. Many have no idea their state offers property tax relief. Others give up because county assessor websites are deliberately opaque and buried under multi-page paper forms. Worse yet, predatory companies have sprung up charging veterans a 25% to 35% cut of their earned relief, or sending deceptive $99 direct-mail solicitations for free government forms.

We built Untax to automate property tax fairness. And as a veteran-owned company, our rule is absolute: We will never take a dime from our disabled brothers and sisters for benefits they already paid for with their service. Under the Founder Veteran Charter, our statutory relief audits, exemption application packets, VSO referrals, and RESPA mortgage escrow recalculation demands are 100% free and pro-bono forever, with zero fees and zero contingency. Official exemption approval is always determined by your county and state reviewing authorities."
